Digitising manuscripts, archives and documents creates digital surrogates that can make the artefacts more accessible and less prone to damage by handling.

At BLOC, we have the facilities to scan and store digitised documents. We also offer Optical Character Recognition software (OCR) which converts these images to machine-encoded text that can be edited, searched and stored online more efficiently.

This equipment is available for creating digital images and 3D models of a variety of objects and environments, and will feed into future plans for developing our capacity in virtual and augmented reality.
